Birthdays
Birthdays are very important events.
Here are some suggestions to celebrating birthdays in Grade 4....
Prior to your child's birthday, please contact your teacher and she will set up a time to celebrate this wonderful occasion. Our celebrations usually take place in the classroom. Treats are welcome in the form of cupcakes or any other treat that
can be passed out and does not require cutting ... no cakes, please.
Labels on Everything
Please label everything your child brings to school - backpacks, lunch bags, water bottles, clothing, and hats. The works! It is so much easier to return lost items this way.
Elementary School Guidelines for Food and Beverage Consumption
Lunch in the Cafeteria
Upper elementary students may purchase milk or plain, unflavoured mineral water only.
Upper elementary students are generally permitted to buy what is on offer in the lunch line. Ice cream is an exception and may only be
purchased on Wednesdays.
Upper elementary students who are not on the prepaid lunch plan are free to consume the same items from the lunch line as their peers
and may use their lunch cards to do so. The credit standing on each student's account is monitored by Eurest and reported to parents when the card is overdrawn.
Upper elementary students may not take any purchased food or beverages from the cafeteria after lunch.
Snack and Beverage Consumption
Elsewhere:Elementary students may only use the vending machines after school.
Elementary students may only use cash to purchase items from the cafe and only after school.
Elementary students are not permitted to purchase items from bake sales or other food based fundraising events (i.e. candygrams, etc).
Elementary students and their parents are strongly encouraged to pack healthy snacks and drinks to be consumed during and after the school day.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION!
- To keep ourselves and others safe
- To respect ourselves and others
- To listen with our ears, eyes and minds
- To show appreciation
- To do the best work we can
